1.Purpose and scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses Cardly.ae — card owners, team members and visitors — and to all content on cards, including text, images, links and embedded media.
2.Honest identity and claims
- Don't impersonate any person, company, government entity or brand, or suggest an affiliation or endorsement that doesn't exist.
- Don't use a card name, card address or logo that could mislead people about who you are.
- Don't claim licences, qualifications, awards, ratings or memberships you don't hold. If your profession is regulated — for example real estate, healthcare, legal or financial services — show the licence or permit details your regulator requires and follow its advertising rules.
- Don't publish misleading prices, offers or product claims, including health or financial claims that aren't substantiated or that need an approval you don't have.
- Don't publish fake reviews or testimonials.
3.Illegal and harmful content
Don't use Cardly.ae to publish, link to or promote content that is illegal in the United Arab Emirates, including under Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combating Rumours and Cybercrimes. This includes content that:
- offends religions, or incites hatred, discrimination, violence, terrorism or extremism;
- violates public morals or public order, including sexually explicit material;
- spreads false news or rumours, or defames, insults or harasses others;
- invades privacy — for example publishing someone's personal data, photos or contact details without their consent;
- promotes illegal goods or services, gambling, drugs, weapons, counterfeit products, money laundering or fraud (including phishing and investment scams);
- exploits or harms minors in any way;
- contains malware or links to malicious websites.
4.Intellectual property
- Only upload logos, photos, videos and text that you own or have permission to use.
- Respect copyright and trademarks protected under UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 38 of 2021 on Copyright and Neighbouring Rights and Federal Decree-Law No. 36 of 2021 on Trademarks.
- Don't order NFC products printed with another company's brand unless you're authorised to use it.
Rights holders can report infringement to hello@cardly.ae with the card link, proof of their rights and a description of the content concerned.
5.Lead forms and messaging
Lead forms connect you with people who choose to share their details. If you receive leads, you must:
- use them only for the purpose the visitor expected — usually following up on your meeting or conversation;
- get separate, explicit consent before adding anyone to a marketing list or newsletter, and stop contacting anyone who asks you to;
- not send bulk or unsolicited messages to leads by email, SMS or WhatsApp;
- keep exported leads secure and handle them in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.
And no one may:
- use a card or lead form to ask for sensitive information such as Emirates ID or passport numbers, bank or payment card details, passwords, health information or information about children;
- submit fake leads, or use someone else's lead form to send spam, advertising or abusive messages.
6.Platform integrity
- Don't scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download cards, contact details or leads, manually or with automated tools. Search engines that follow our robots rules are allowed to index public pages.
- Don't create accounts in bulk or by automated means, or get around bot protection, rate limits or plan limits.
- Don't overload, disrupt or interfere with Cardly.ae, including through denial-of-service attacks.
- Don't access, or try to access, accounts, cards or data that aren't yours, and don't share your sign-in details.
- Don't reverse-engineer, decompile or copy the Service, except where the law expressly allows it.
- Don't use Cardly.ae links — including NFC tap and QR code links — to send people to phishing, malware or deceptive websites.
- Don't resell or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us.
7.Security testing and responsible disclosure
Permission first
Security testing of Cardly.ae is allowed only with our prior written permission. Unauthorised access to systems or data can be a criminal offence under UAE law.
If you find a vulnerability, please report it to hello@cardly.ae with enough detail for us to reproduce it. When researching and reporting, please:
- only use accounts and data that belong to you — never access, change or delete other people's data;
- don't run denial-of-service, spam, social-engineering or physical attacks;
- don't test the third-party services we use (such as Stripe, Cloudflare or Hostinger) — report issues to them directly;
- stop and tell us immediately if you come across personal data;
- give us a reasonable time to fix the issue — normally 90 days — before sharing it publicly.
We'll acknowledge your report, keep you updated and, if you wish, credit you once the issue is fixed. We don't currently run a paid bug bounty programme.
8.Enforcement
If we believe content or activity breaches this policy, we may — depending on how serious it is — ask you to fix it, remove or hide content, unpublish a card, reclaim a card address, restrict features, or suspend or close the account. Where appropriate and legally allowed, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond, as described in our Terms of Service.
We may report illegal activity to the competent UAE authorities and cooperate with lawful requests.
9.Report abuse
If you see a card that breaks these rules — for example impersonation, a scam or someone misusing your details — email hello@cardly.ae with the card link and a short description. We review every report and may contact you for more information. We won't tell the card owner who reported them unless the law requires us to.
